Mr. Michael F. Becker, Attorney

Mr. Michael F. Becker has over 33 years of trial experience. He is past President of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys (CATA). His practice is primarily in the area of medical negligence. Mr. Becker is a frequent lecturer on medical negligence and is a former chair of the Medical Negligence Section of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has authored articles on Medical Malpractice in state and national publications. Mr. Becker is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been elected a fellow of the International Society of Barristers and is regularly selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America, as well as Ohio Super Lawyers. Mr. Becker was inducted into the Inner Circle of Advocates which is a group of the top 100 personal injury lawyers in the country. Mr. Becker received the Craig Spangenberg Distinguished Advocate Award from the Ohio Association for Justice on May 14, 2009 for his contribution to advocacy in 2008 which is given to one attorney per year. Mr. Becker also received the President's Award from the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys on June 19, 2009.

Mr. Howard Mishkind, Attorney

Mr. Howard Mishkind is a Partner in the law firm of Becker & Mishkind Co., L.P.A. He represents plaintiffs injured as a result of the negligence of medical care providers. He handles serious medical claims against doctors, hospitals and nursing homes. He also handles catastrophic injury claims arising out of motor vehicle collisions. He has been a participant in numerous seminars locally and throughout the State of Ohio on matters relating to personal injury, medical malpractice, civil litigation and legal ethics. He has also made numerous appearances and presentations to various local schools and on several local radio and television stations.

Howard D. Mishkind has 29 years experience as a trial attorney. He is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Ohio Association for Justice OAJ), the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys (CATA), the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) He has also handled catastrophic injury claims caused by childhood vaccinations. He is an adjunct professor at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he teaches a course on medical malpractice. He has been a participant in multiple seminars on matters relating to personal injury, medical malpractice and trial advocacy issues. Mr. Mishkind is a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has been selected for inclusion by an independent peer evaluation as an Ohio Super Lawyer that includes only 5% of the lawyers in Ohio as an accomplished plaintiff medical malpractice attorney in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Ohio Super Lawyers publication. Mr. David A. Kulwicki, Attorney

David A. Kulwicki has been a trial lawyer for 20 years. He graduated from the University of Texas-Austin with honors in economics and from the Ohio State University School of Law with his juris doctor. Mr. Kulwicki is former Chairman of the Medical Negligence Section of the Ohio Academy of Justice (OAJ), former Chairman of OAJ's Constitutional Review Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. He has lectured and written on various topics related to personal injury and medical litigation. Mr. Kulwicki practices primarily in the area of medical negligence. Pamela Pantages has 15 years experience as a trial attorney. Ms. Pantages also has a Masters degree in speech pathology and audiology, and worked in a hospital and a school district in Ohio before going to law school. Mr. John Bulloch, Attorney

John joined Becker & Mishkind Co., L.P.A. in February of 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bulloch practiced law with Moscarino & Treu LLP for five years. Previously, he worked as an associate with the Cleveland Office of Arter & Hadden and as in-house counsel for the Cleveland Clinic Health System. His prior experience in health care law involved medical malpractice defense, risk management, risk financing, and the defense of doctors, nurses and pharmacists before administrative agencies and boards. John's prior experience in healthcare law will now be applied to the exclusive representation of victims of medical negligence and their families.

Admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1991, John is also a Registered Pharmacist. This background will uniquely qualify him to assist the attorneys and medical team in providing comprehensive representation of patients in all aspects of medical negligence claims. He is a member of the Ohio Bar Association and a Life Member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference.

A life-long resident of Lorain County, John received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo. He graduated magna cum laude from The Case Western Reserve College of Law in 1991, where he also served on the law review and was a member of The Order of the Coif.

Mr. Ronald Margolis, Attorney

Ronald A. Margolis joined Becker & Mishkind Co., L.P.A. in February of 2008. He previously was a principle with the law firm of Finelli & Margolis Co., which limited its practice to the representation of plaintiffs in medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. Ron is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has been a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars. During Ron's 27-year career, he has tried an excess of 60 complex civil cases to verdict, the majority being medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. Ron also has been involved in class action consumer fraud litigation resulting in some of the largest settlements and verdicts in the State of Ohio. Ron has received professional acknowledgements for results he has obtained in the courtroom on behalf of his clients, and enjoys a statewide trial practice. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Association for Justice, formally the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. Ron is married with two children, a daughter who is 25 years old and is a prosecutor in Lake County and his son is entering the ninth grade. His wife, Lisa, is actively involved in administrative fundraising for several local charities.

Nurse Legal Consultants

Kathleen Mulligan

Kathleen is a Registered Nurse with over twenty-five years experience in both medical- surgical and critical care nursing practice. She has held positions as a clinical bedside nurse, nurse manager, supervisor, critical care director and nurse educator in both hospital settings and as an instructor in medical-surgical nursing and for the Legal Nurse Consulting program at Tri-C Community College.

Kathleen received a Diploma from Saint Vincent Charity Hospital School of Nursing; a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration from Saint Joseph's College; and a Master's degree in Adult Education from Cleveland State University. While clinically working Kathleen taught multiple classes in CPR , Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma classes and Critical Care Orientation programs. She was an active member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) , American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses. She provided an all day seminar on Legal Nurse Consulting at an Annual National AALNC seminar and also was a contributing author to a text on "Becoming a Nurse Expert."

Leslie Klausner

Leslie has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Kent State University and has clinical experience as a staff nurse delivering care to patients receiving Medical-Surgical, Cardiac and Oncologic care at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She also was a staff nurse in the Emergency Department of Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio where she delivered acute care to both adult and pediatric patients.
